Huni Kuin in Europe — 2026
The Family Behind the Medicine
A living lineage of forest medicine, song and ceremony, carried by many generations of one Amazonian family, now opening doors in Europe and beyond.
A Sacred Medicine, Held with Care
In the forest, medicine is never separate from the people who carry it. The songs, the plants, the prayers and the ceremonies are passedfrom hand to hand, from voice to voice, across generations.
When you sit in a Yura ceremony, you are not meeting a singlefacilitator. You are meeting a family — a grandfather, his son, his son's wife — and the long line of ancestors standing behind them. This page is an introduction to that family.
Pajé Naī
Beiya Īkamuru
Pajé Ikamuru, is a big elder of the Huni Kuin people, born and rooted in Boa Vista Village on the Jordão River, in the state of Acre, Brazil. At 67 years old, he is the father of eight sons and the spiritual father of an entire lineage that now reaches the world. He was trained by his own father, in an unbroken transmission of Huni Kuin tradition. Together with his wife Nāke, master weaver and keeper of the feminine arts, he raised a family deeply rooted in the songs, the prayers, and the medicines of his people. He carries the full ceremonial path of the Huni Kuin: Nixi Pae, Hume Heshke, Shanētsamati, Kapū, Hãpaya, Muka — and the long body of traditional knowledge that comes with them. He is the grandfather of the family that now carries this work into Tulum, Europe and beyond. He will not be present physically in this Europe tour but in spirit.
Inu Yube Huni Kuin
Inu Yube is a Txana, a singer and musician of the Huni Kuin prayers, and the son of Pajé Nai Beiya Īkamuru and master weaver Nāke. Born in Aldeia Boa Vista on the Rio Jordão, he has been walking inside ceremony since he was a small child, sitting beside his father. He has completed the Muka dieta and many other sacred dietas of his people.
He carries the same medicines as his father — Nixi Pae, Hume Heshke, Shanētsamati, Kapū — and the full sound and song body of the Huni Kuin tradition. Inu Yube blends ancestral culture with contemporary elements, incorporating the guitar into sacred prayers and balancing tradition and modernity. He studies traditional stories and medicines with his father and is currently completing two books on his research.
As a representative of the Pey Kãwã family, he established the first Huni Kuin Cultural and Spiritual Center in São Paulo-SP, Brazil — creating opportunities for his people's youth and a bridge between the village and the world.
TXANANY — THE FEMININE PRESENCE
Ana Clara Txanany is a Shaneibu guardian, wife of Inu Yube and mother of her sons. For more than ten years she has walked the path of the medicine, completing many traditional dietas and stepping into her place as a rising medicine woman of the Huni Kuin. Communicator, cultural producer, and artist, she is dedicated to supporting Huni Kuin projects inside and outside the village — holding tradition, lifestyle, and spirituality as one continuous thread. In ceremony, Ana Clara plays a crucial role: she organises the space, cares for the participants, and enriches the experience with sacred songs and prayers — blending her voice and her guitar to create a unique spiritual atmosphere. She is the honey queen: the sweetness and the strength that hold the feminine pole of the medicine.
THE MEDICINES THEY CARRY
Nixi Pae (Aya)
A sacred medicine from the jagube vine and chacrona shrub, revered by Amazonian indigenous peoples as a bridge to the spiritual realms. It opens a connection with nature's wisdom and the spirits, expanding consciousness and guiding participants through the unseen world.
Hume Heshke (Rapé)
A sacred medicine from the Amazon, blending tobacco and other plants, prepared with reverence by indigenous healers. It aligns participants with the energy of nature and opens pathways to spiritual connection — grounding, clarity, and presence.
Kapū (Kambo)
A sacred medicine of the Amazon rainforest, deeply embedded in Huni Kuin health practice. Used for profound detoxification, fortification of the immune system, and the removal of lethargy and malaise.
Shanētsamati (Sananga)
Medicinal eye drops made from plant roots, applied to preserve vision, protect against negative energies, and open pathways to good dreams and visions. It clears emotional blockages and brings clarity to inner and outer sight.
Hãpaya
A sacred Huni Kuin baptism that opens the song and ignites the memory of singers, making them the voices of the forest. After Hãpaya, a guided dieta must be undertaken, following the wisdom and traditions of the Huni Kuin.
